It’s no secret…

You might have heard of a mode called “whisper”. Whisper actually stands for WSPR, short for “Weak Signal Propagation Reporter”. WSPR is a computer program used for weak-signal radio communication between amateur radio operators.  The program is designed for sending and receiving low-power transmissions to test propagation paths on the MF and HF bands.

At our March 6th meeting Rich Nagel, W8KU will be giving an actual WSPR demonstration, using the special software and his homebuilt magnetic loop antenna. I think you’ll be amazed at how this system works.

2017 Programs announced

Thanks to those attending our last meeting, a vote was taken on the programs that had been suggested to date.  Topics that scored the highest will be pursued for our 2017 schedule.  Of course, programs are subject to change so it’s best to receive the e-minders, just in case there’s a last minute change. Let’s Celebrate Earth Day 2017

PRC will members will celebrate our 5th annual Earth Day Special Event Operation, Saturday, April 22nd at Stearns Farm.  Keeping with the spirit of the event, we’ll be operating our stations entirely on power from the sun.  This is great opportunity to get out and work and socialize with fellow members and meet the public.  Last year we had the unique opportunity to pet the horses and share our cabin with newborn chicks!

2017 Roster

to be published soon. Make sure your dues are paid to be on the roster and receive club information.
